Xam's Pokemon Adventure 3: Hoenn

The boat that Xam and Mary took to Hoenn was a small one. The boat arrived at a small dock on Route 104 where their adventure began towards Rustboro City.

They met another trainer who was traveling the Hoenn region named E-chan, who couldn't wait to explore Hoenn. He was fascinated by Mary's pink fur, and asked if Xam would travel with him so they could keep each other company. Xam loved the idea of exploring a region with a friend for once, and accepted the trainer's offer.

Distinguishing Features: Dark skin and facial hair
Birthplace: A faraway city by the bay

E-chan had the unique ability to copy pokemon's moves through his art, and was a skilled fighter at that. As they continued down the route together, it was here that Xam met a poor lost pokemon who couldn't find her mother.

Gira
Species: Ralts (Now a Gardevoir)
Gender: Female
Distinguishing Features: A maid bonnet, until she becomes fully evolved and replaces her outfit with an elegant maid garb (not a naughty short flirty one, she is a lady)
Birthplace: Route 102

Gira was a very polite Ralts and very sweet, it was a mystery how she had gotten lost so far from home. When Xam offered to help her get back, she asked if she could come with him, and become stronger so she wouldn't be afraid of the world anymore. Xam heard the first gym was a rock type gym, and taught her some grass moves to easily take on the gym, giving her a huge confidence boost and a ton of experiance. She ultimately learned new moves as their adventure went on of course, loving the way how thunderbolt kept frisky and flirty men who saw a defenseless young Gardevoir at bay.

While in Rustboro though they met a girl named Flannery, a firey tomboy with red hair and a love of fire types. She immediately cuddled poor Mary to death. She offered and begged to trade Xam for her, following him around, and when she finally gave up asking, she simply stated she was going to come with him so he could get to know her and spend more time with Mary. And so, Xam, E-chan, and Flannery began to travel Hoenn together.

When the trio caught a boat to Dewford Town they found much to explore on the small island it was on. They had fun surfing and getting to know Brawly before their gym battle. That's when Xam met a pokemon Brawly had been training, but couldn't keep under control.

Pyra
Species: Combusken (Now a Blaziken)
Gender: Female
Distinguishing Features: Blue flame tatoo designs up either arm.
Birthplace: Dewford Town

Pyra was obsessed with overcoming her weaknesses. She practiced moves in the sand, meditated in the water, and drove herself to exhaustion constantly, and Brawly couldn't figure out what to do with her. Xam talked to Flannery for advice, and came to Pyra with pep-talk and support. She was shocked by his sweet words and kind heart, not to mention how much he believed in her. She trained hard, but she trained right, and asked Xam to help her. She pleaded with Brawly to go with Xam, and he agreed if she could defeat him with what Xam had taught her. She won, and Brawly gave her to Xam, and she's been a little flirt with her trainer ever since.

When the trio got to Slateport City, Xam pulled E-chan aside for advice. He admitted he was developing a crush on Flannery, and didn't know what to do. E-chan suggested he just be himself and let time bring the answer to him. Xam spent some time alone on the beach to think, and while he did he noticed a Swablu, not native to the area and potentially a good pokemon to have. So with a little effort getting to it, he caught it.

Yuna
Species: Swablu (Now an Altaria)
Gender: Female
Distinguishing Features: A pearl necklace, and crystal Lunatone earrings.
Birthplace: Sky Pillar

Yuna was an incredibly confident Swablu, even moreso when she evolved, and constantly got things done simply so she could enjoy the praise she received for it. Quickly after catching her though, trouble was afoot at the Oceanic Museum, where an organization known as Team Aqua was up to something. Flannery revealed she'd battled a goon causing trouble in Petalburg Woods, and while they had been relaxing at Dewford Town E-chan had done the same in Roseturf Tunnel.

Mary received word from Vivi that Team Aqua was an organization dedicated to reawakening the legendary Kyogre and expanding the ocean, but doing so would flood the world! Xam managed to scare the grunts off, but they swore to be back in stronger numbers. What were they after at the museum?

They made their way further north and took on the gym in Mauville. After this they decided to relax, mainly so Xam could ask Flannery on a date. She accepted, and the two had a wonderful time, playing at the game corner and riding bikes together. That night while everyone was asleep, a thief snuck in to steal from them, going after Yuna's jewelry. Xam however wasn't asleep yet, and caught the thief in the act, defeating and catching the pokemon.

Amethyst
Species: Roserade
Gender: Female
Distinguishing Features: Shiny. Wears fishnet stockings and more ninja-ish garb including a scarf instead of a cape.
Birthplace: Route 117

The Roserade had been the pokemon of a thief who was recently caught, and without her trainers direction, she continued to steal. But she had made the mistake of not using Grass Whistle to make sure everyone was asleep before pulling off the heist. Xam immediately spanked her and told her she was going to turn from her life of crime and travel with him. Reluctant and annoyed at first, Roserade warmed up to Xam after a while, and even enjoyed how surprisingly elegant and fun to talk to all the other girls in his party were. Sadly, she was still a bit of a kleptomaniac no matter how much he tamed her.

When the team came to Route 111 the desert was blocked by a sandstorm. Flannery revealed her hometown of Lavaridge was nearby, where she was the gym leader, shocking her friends. She got a playful spanking from Xam for not telling him sooner, but of course he wasn't mad at her. That's when they discovered someone crying, hiding amongst the trees.

Mallori
Species: Swampert
Gender: Female
Distinguishing Features: Shiny pokemon
Birtplace: Unknown

Mallori had been living a life a seclusion and hiding in the desert so no trainers would capture and or hurt her just because she was shiny. She was afraid hundreds of trainers would be after her now that she was forced out of the desert by the sandstorm. Scared and confused, she tried to avoid Xam, but he convinced her to come with them to Lavaridge where she could relax and be safe without being caught.

The group noticed a fight going on though between Team Aqua, as well as a second team called Team Magma. Vivi contacted Mary again to reveal that Magma, much like Aqua, was trying to reawaken the legendary Groudon to expand the land. Currently both had separate goals for a meteorite they had taken from Meteor Falls: Magma wanted to erupt the volcano, while Aqua wanted to render it an inactive water basin.

Xam told Flannery to get Mallori to Lavaridge, but the Swampert refused saying really bad people were up on that volcano, and if either side won, it could hurt a lot of people and pokemon. Xam warned her that they might try and capture her, so she took one of his pokeballs and caught herself for him. With his team of six complete, he rode the cable car up, and with his friends as well, they wiped the floor with both sides, saving the volcano from either fate.

The trio and their pokemon relaxed in the hot springs and sands at Lavaridge before Xam and Flannery battled for the gym badge. She revealed she was inexperienced with being a gym leader, and that she would soon have to take over the gym from her grand father. This news saddened Xam, until she offered for him to give her an heir. After teasing him into fainting she revealed she would finish her adventure with them in Hoenn, and even after would always be waiting there for Xam.

The group discovered Team Magma's hideout on the nearby Jagged Path, and found themselves taking on the entire organization to try and stop them from awakening Groudon. They were too late however, and the legend reawakened and then rushed away, vanishing and too powerful to be controlled. Soon, the Hoenn region began to experience massive heat waves.

They returned to Petalburg to take on the gym there, and then made their way to Fortree, where Xam admired the tree houses amongst the forest. While on Route 121, Xam took a detour to Route 122 and visited Mt. Pyre, catching a Vulpix in a Premier Ball as a gift to Flannery who always loved Mary. She was overjoyed, and suggested his next gift be a ring.

The group got to Mossdeep to take on the seventh gym, but after beating it they discovered Team Magma was there attempting to acquire Rocket Fuel to erupt Mt. Chimney after their recent failure. They were defeated in the end, but then more trouble was afoot as Vivi warned them Team Aqua was back in Slateport. The team arrived too late, and Aqua had stolen a submarine to reach the Seafloor Cavern.

The group took a dive, Flannery reluctantly, and found their hideout, taking them on as they had Magma, but were once again too late. Kyogre was reawakened, but rushed away just like Groudon. The heatwaves stopped however, and soon the entire region began to be engulfed in heavy rainstorms. The leaders of Magma and Aqua realized their mistake: Groudon would turn the world into a burning wasteland, and Kyogre would flood it! This was not what they wanted, not to these extremes.

The two pokemon had gone to Sootopolis, and the only way to stop the legendary giants was to get the help of the legendary Rayquaza, but where could he be? Yuna revealed she knew Rayquaza, and that he lived at the top of the Sky Pillar where she was born. The team rushed there to end this chaos, but found the entrance was blocked by three Deoxys. They each maintained different forms, and revealed they wanted this world destroyed and wouldn't let the team call upon Rayquaza's help.

They split up: Flannery took on the attack form, E-chan took on the defense form, and Xam took on the speed form. They each defeated the aliens, who revealed they were alien criminals, and would be back to their world with new plans one day before disappearing. With them out of the way, the team went to the top of the pillar to find Rayquaza in a dormant state.

With Yuna's help, they awakened him, and he knew immediately what was afoot from the weather. He gave them a ride as he flew to Sootopolis, vanquishing the storm clouds and heavy sunlight, and battling against Kyogre and Groudon. With the two other legends quelled, peace was restored, and Team Aqua and Magma made amends and disbanded. Kyogre returned to the ocean where it would remain traveling and hidden. Groudon had nowhere to go, until Flannery told him he could live in Mt. Chimney near Lavaridge, and that she would watch over and protect him. Groudon accepted her offer and left.

With the conflict ended, Xam took on his last gym, as well as the Elite Four and Champion of this region. E-chan said he loved the adventure he had with them, and if he ever ran into Xam again, he'd love to have another just as epic. Xam proposed to Flannery and the two became engaged, deciding to take their relationship more seriously even if it was long distance. After everything was done, they went their separate ways. Flannery went home to be a gym leader, and the guardian of Groudon. E-chan went off on his own direction, and Xam returned home to visit his mother and give her the good news. Sadly her constant insisting to meet his bride to be lead to him seeking out a new adventure, and despite her rage as he ran away, Mary and Xam rushed off to their next adventure in the Shinnoh region.
